Delightful

"We have had a great time every time we visit. The website shows us exactly what we were getting - a small Captain's house that was converted to an Inne. All the walls are knotty pine. Cozy rooms. En suite bathrooms in every room. Outdoor hot tub. Great views, good price, right on the harbor. Clean. Pet friendly. The innkeeper Claude will cook you breakfast. We chose the room with the jacuzzi, great views and a skylight. Delightful. Fireplace with wood in the living room. And a piano. Shared kitchen and frig. Cable tv in every room. Convenient - easy travel by car or train. Plenty of parking. Near to downtown Mystic. There's also a cottage if you prefer."

History

Set directly on the Mystic Harbor marina, this maritime-themed bed-and-breakfast is on a quiet side street not far from the hustle and bustle of downtown Mystic. It's a quick 5-minute, one block walk from the Amtrak train station, and a mile from both Williams Beach Park and Mystic Seaport. So, when you arrive for your stay you can park your car and never need it again for the rest of your trip.

Guests at Harbour Inne love the laid back feel that they are staying with family. Pets are welcome to join them for their stay and a guest kitchen is accessible for any one that wants to put together a homemade meal during their stay.

The property was built in the 1920s by a true seaman who used the area as his home base. He designed and built a simple, no frills design and layout of the building. Cozy, wood-paneled guest rooms that are reminiscent of being inside the hull of a wooden ship have cable TV and free Wi-Fi; some offer 2-person whirlpool tubs.

A guest cottage features a fireplace, a kitchen, a deck and a private outdoor hot tub that looks out over the waterfront. Guests of the inn are set up for a memorable visit with bicycles and kayaks that you can rent directly at the property.

Of course, a hearty hot breakfast is provided by the inn with freshly cooked omelettes, pancakes and more.

The innkeeper at Harbour Inne & Cottage - Claude Falardeau - is a fascinating and friendly character with lots of knowledge of the area's attractions and restaurants. He runs the inn with the help of his daughter, Linda. When you arrive at Harbour Inne, don't be surprised when you are escorted around for a tour of the property by the innkeeper himself.

You need only ask a simple question to get all the information you could possibly need from Claude. He will tell you stories about the area and about his life and adventures as the innkeeper there.

Harbour Inne & Cottage will feel like your home away from home.
It's the perfect place to escape the city for a stay away from your home.

Peaceful Place away from the Crowd

"Peaceful place away from the crowd but only a 10-minute walk to the hub of activity downtown. Marina next door was very quiet at night. Nearby light industrial businesses also quiet. Beautiful view out to the River and train bridge. Old fashioned room with great breeze. Welcomed our Labrador dog too. Enjoying a cocktail in the gazebo now. Reasonable rates. Will come back."
